Uganda’s Ranch Restructuring Programme

A controlled institutional reconstruction of the ranch restructuring programme, unresolved land records and policy questions affecting equitable and productive livestock development.

Public summary

What the controlled record establishes.

The suite reconstructs the historical ranch programme across Ankole, Masaka, Singo, Buruli and Bunyoro. It records 206 ranch units in the reconciled programme register and 165,308.7 hectares reallocated from ranchers to households classified as squatters. It also identifies unresolved questions concerning title surrender, registration, compensation and custody of programme records.

These figures describe the programme record; they are not presented as independently certified current land-registry findings. The underlying reports specify that evidence certification and records recovery remain necessary.
